The school principal who wrote the devastating 3 page letter on school letterhead has been replaced (shuffled along as they say when politicians get in a tight spot. He was replaced during the summer with no reason given or forewarning in a school newsletter after school closed for summer holidays. This was after I brought to the attention of the VSB that he misused his position as a school principal (which is a understatement). The VSB refused (s) to talk about the issues. I must ask the VSB how we are to learn from the past if life's lessons are pushed into a corner and never talked about. //////// As I have come to believe, teachers are used for guaranteed votes by crafty politicians. 32,000 teachers is a lot of power at vote time.I believe the principal was insulated due to being a teacher by definition, thus giving the impression that the folks in power are supportive of teachers. But in fact I fully believe the politicians disguised as administrators are doing more damage than good by lumping this principal in the same basket as all the hardworking salt of the earth teachers in BC. By letting this principal not answer for his actions and not fixing the financial & emotional damage caused by the letter, the VSB is essentially giving teachers all accross BC the burden of letting their peer walk away from the destruction due to partisan ideology. VSB is making all teachers a part of this "willful blindness". //// In the mid 1990s Pam Richardson also felt the wrath, power and injustice of the Vancouver School system in her book "A Kidnapped Mind", as she was alienated from her child by school administrators. Pam talks about the few brave/good teachers with a deep affection in her book, who reached out to her and stood up against those administrators. To stand blind to injustice is just as bad as doing the injustice yourself. I would like to thank the open minded teachers who have shown me compassion & neutrality throughout this nightmare. I ask all good teachers that you do not let injustice hide behind your hard work & humanity without asking a few questions. Ask what this principal did. Ask the VSB why they misused a Sec.177 on me & why they quickly retracted it once the newspapers published the injustice. Ask the VSB how much they have paid their lawyers & PR folks, as opposed to just doing what is just and fair.
